ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rich Lammer has been an artist since childhood starting with sketching then oil paints and later on woodworking.
He was born and raised in Dubuque Iowa, where he attended grade school, high school, and one year at Loras College before moving to the mountains of Colorado in 1978. He spent 9 years there before relocating to just outside of Oakland California where he lived for 28 years, employed as a construction surveyor. In 2015, he retired and moved back to Dubuque.
Rich uses mostly local hardwoods for his projects, including oak, maple, cherry, and walnut. He makes a variety of items including coffee tables, matching end tables, mirrors, custom picture frames, small boxes, and cabinets.
Working out of Key City Creative Center (KCCC), a local co-op for craftspeople in Dubuque, he is able to utilize all the machines and space, rather than owning a shop.
